Before planting soak corms in a bucket of water overnight or up to 12 hours, they will double in size and grow more quickly.
PLANTING IN AUTUMN: Once you have soaked the corms overnight, plant them in a pot, claws facing down and eyes up, 5cm deep and 10cm apart. Once the danger of frost has passed, plant them in the ground. Ensure there is good ventilation as they are prone to powdery mildew. Alternatively, you can grow them directly in the ground, sheltered with a cloche or fleece.
